"MANAGEMENT DES RESSOURCES A L’INTERNATIONAL : ENJEUX, CONFIGURATIONS ET IMPACTS"

Le prix de thèse Atlas AFMI est décerné à Stefano Valdemarin
Stefano VALDEMARIN a soutenu sa thèse intitulée « Network development in international organizations : The case of ONLYLYON » le 25 novembre 2019 à l'Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3. La thèse a été dirigée par Ulrike MAYRHOFER (IAE Nice, Université Côte d'Azur) et est rédigée en anglais. Stefano VALDEMARIN pose la question de savoir comment les organisations peuvent développer leurs réseaux internationaux. La thèse est ainsi fortement positionnée dans le champ du management international. Pour répondre à la problématique posée, Stefano VALDEMARIN a effectué 103 observations participantes sur une période de 30 mois, ainsi que 36 entretiens en France et en Italie, qu’il a analysés avec maîtrise à l'aide du logiciel NVivo. La thèse présente d'excellentes qualités académiques qui se manifestent dans le lien particulièrement clair entre la théorie, la phase empirique et les résultats. Elle est remarquable par l'association de deux thématiques (les organisations en réseau et les processus d'internationalisation), un construit théorique qui intègre trois théories différentes, une démarche méthodologique originale en management international et un terrain riche au sein d'une organisation non-marchande. La thèse identifie des dynamiques individuelles dans les réseaux, et apporte une nouvelle perspective au champ étudié.
Pour l'ensemble de ces motifs, le jury a décidé à l'unanimité d'attribuer le prix de thèse Atlas-AFMI 2019-2020 à Stefano VALDEMARIN et propose de soumettre sa thèse pour le prix de la « meilleure thèse 2020 en Sciences de gestion » de la FNEGE. Chaleureuses félicitations au lauréat, ainsi qu'à sa directrice de thèse!
Stefano VALDEMARIN defended his thesis entitled "Network development in international organizations: The case of ONLYLYON" on November 25, 2019 at the Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University. The thesis was supervised by Ulrike MAYRHOFER (IAE Nice, Université Côte d'Azur) and is written in English. Stefano VALDEMARIN poses the question of how organizations can develop their international networks. The thesis as such is strongly positioned in the field of international management. In order to answer his research question, Stefano VALDEMARIN conducted 103 participant observations over a period of 30 months and 36 interviews in France and Italy, which he analysed with skill, using NVivo software. The thesis has excellent academic qualities, which is shown in particular by the clear link between theory, the empirical method and the results. The jury appreciated the association of two themes (networked organizations and internationalization processes), a theoretical construct which integrates three different theories, an original methodological approach in international management and a rich field within a non-market organization. The thesis identifies individual dynamics in networks and brings a new perspective to the field of international management.
For all these reasons, the jury unanimously decided to award the Atlas-AFMI 2019-2020 best thesis award to Stefano VALDEMARIN and proposes to submit his thesis for "best thesis 2020 in Management Sciences" award, organized by the FNEGE. We address our sincere congratulations to the winner and to his thesis supervisor!
